Circo Nero

Circo Nero was founded in Florence in 2006 from a love for the magical, poignant world of the circus, when its big top and bizarre characters arrived in a snowy, cold Florence, bringing warmth and smiles to both adults and children.

It was born from a fascination with Tod Browning's 1932 film "Freaks," a hymn to tolerance set in America during the economic crisis, where "different" people—the Freaks—were exposed and mocked for their physical "monstrosities."

Circo Nero makes tolerance and joy its hallmark, revisiting the world of the circus through style, dressing each of its characters in outfits created by emerging Florentine and international designers, creating a true Made in Italy Fashion Show, born in a city like Florence, a global hub of fashion, style, and creativity.
